These instructions explain how to connect a Windows 8 laptop / notebook computer to the eduroam wireless network. Some tablets use “Windows 8 RT” – if you wish to connect a Windows 8 RT device (a device with an ARM processor), you should follow these instructions instead.

Step-by-step guide

Add the steps involved:

Download and run the eduroam Windows 8 set-up wizard.
N.B. If you have downloaded the wizard in the past, delete the copy you have, and download it again from the link above. This will ensure you are using the latest version.
Once the set-up wizard has completed, choose edu roam from the list of available wireless networks, and click connect

Enter your RBCusername with @bruford.ac.uk on the end e.g.ab12345@bruford.ac.uk

Enter your password, and click Ok

If you need help, please contact the IT helpdesk

These instructions will only work if you have a RBC username If you are from a different Eduroam organisation, you will need to refer to your home organisation for the correct instructions - click here for more information
